As Extended Reality (XR) technologies evolve, they present a realm of possibilities for museums to rejuvenate exhibits, create interactive narratives, and reach global audiences in transformative ways. This panel gathers museum curators, digital strategists, and XR pioneers to delve into the next generation of museum storytelling. Explore case studies of museums that have successfully integrated XR, discuss the challenges faced in merging tech with traditional spaces, and envision the endless opportunities for immersive cultural engagement. Iconem presents:

Venice Revealed:  A vision for the future in cultural heritage discovery

Expo Center, Lakeside Village (UM)

What city enjoys such universal celebrity as Venice, an unparalleled unicum of history, art, and tradition? At the origins of its magic, sixteen centuries ago, lies a unique relationship with the waters of the lagoon, the use of innovative and experimental technologies, the courage to imagine a city of stone on a surface of water and mud, and the wisdom of urban planning that perpetually listens to the flow of the tides.

Yves Ubelmann, president and co-founder of Iconem, will present the ‘Venice Revealed’ groundbreaking exhibition co-produced with the Grand Palais Immersif in collaboration with the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. This exhibition is a journey to unravel the mystery of Venice through 3D new technologies. It offers unique points of view and invites you to fly over the city's districts, brings you close to the details of the paintings invisible to the naked eye, and allows you to cross the walls of the palaces.

In this keynote, we will explore an adapted version of the exhibition created by the Ars Electronica, currently showcased in Linz, Austria, within the DeepSpace 8K. Experience a real-time virtual tour of both the exhibition and the iconic Doge's Palace, immersing you in the heart of Venice.
