CLASSES:

Class 1 - August 7th:

Start with a vocal/movement warm-up. The focus of the first class would be to explore our instrument with guided imagination and sensory exercises, and building to simple contentless scenes incorporating text.

Class 2 - August 14th:

Build on the previous week by working on more complex text; incorporating poems and heightened language to create circumstances (who/what/when/why/where) as the basis of a scene. Assign monologues from published plays to memorize and work on during the following class.

Class 3 - August 21st:

Work on moment-to-moment and text analysis on an individual piece of text. Learn to identify the "clues" given by the material and playwright in order to begin to learn how to use language in a more active way by affecting the other "character(s)" in the scene. Assign multi-person scenes to students.

Class 4 - August 28th:

Present multi-person scenes to become accustomed to listening and responding to an actual scene partner, while building on the acting techniques learned in previous classes.

Class 5 - September 4th:

Depending on time, either rework the scene(s) or work on additional scenes. The basis of these two classes is to start moving from an individual artwork to a more ensemble one.

Class 6 - September 11th:

Work on audition sides for TV/Film. Work on additional material students might be interested in working on. Question & Answer session about the industry and the career of an actor.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
