Luke Conroy
Co-Director of Nullshima Studio

Luke Conroy is an Australian interdisciplinary artist based in The Netherlands. Working
across film, animation, research, sound, installation and virtual reality, his practice weaves
archival material, pop culture imagery, personal snapshots and AI-generated visuals into
layered narratives that mix humor, critique and speculation. Conroy explores urgent themes
including climate crisis, colonial legacies, consumerism and the pervasive influence of
technology, often presenting his works as chaotic visual mind maps. With a background in
sociology and media studies, his projects combine research-driven storytelling with playful
experimentation, questioning how everyday life reflects broader cultural and political forces.
Alongside Anne Fehres, he is co-director of Nullshima Studio.
