Vivian Marthell

Vivian is the Co-Founder and CEO/CCO of O Cinema, a groundbreaking independent cinema and creative space in South Florida dedicated to storytelling through film, virtual and mixed reality, and immersive experiences. Under her leadership, O Cinema has received major support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, including a $1.5 million award in 2019 to develop a new arts campus.

Vivian is also the founder of the Miami Cultural Alliance, a nonprofit advocacy group that convenes cultural leaders to build consensus, generate solutions, and advocate for the sector from within. A dedicated cultural strategist, she has held leadership roles at Creative Industries Inc., Lab6, Tigertail Productions, and Working Classroom.

As an artist and producer, her collaborative installations and performances have been presented nationally and internationally, with residencies in the U.S. and Australia. In 2015, she was named a Knight Arts Champion for her contributions to Miami’s cultural vibrancy.

She is a member of the FatLip, META Miami, and Dark Matter Group collectives and serves on the boards of Pioneer Winter Collective, Hanan Arts, and FilmGate Interactive.
