Clay Ewing is creative technologist with a focus on serious games, implementing game mechanics into real world applications, and social justice. As an award winning game designer and developer, Professor Ewing’s games have tackled issues such as vector borne diseases, the cost of health care, social safety nets and labor practices.His projects have been covered by The Huffington Post, NPR, Forbes, and The Consumerist.  He also is the creator of Queso, an open source learning management for gamifying the classroom.

ien Tran is an assistant professor of interactive media at the University of Miami where she teaches game, web, and interaction design and inspires her students to use their design chops for social good. She is an award-winning game designer who has serious fun breaking down real-world complexity into interactive systems for social good. Her project partnerships include: Open Society Foundations, U.N., Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, World Bank, and World Wildlife Fund.

Ram Devineni (Founder & President) is a filmmaker, publisher and founder of Rattapallax films and magazine. He produced, edited and directed the feature documentary The Human Tower, which was shot in India, Chile, and Spain. Recently, he produced The Russian Woodpecker, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. He is the co-creator of the augmented reality comic book, Priya’s Shakti, which received the 2014 Tribeca Film Institute New Media Fund from the Ford Foundation.



Nick Hardeman is a new media artist, designer, and experimenter. I utilize technology to create immersive environments that invite people to explore. His work includes interactive installations, mobile and online applications that investigate new modes of creative expression.

Jeff Soyk is an award-winning media artist with experience in creative direction, UI & UX design, HTML5/CSS3/JS, and film/video. His credits include art director, UI/UX designer and architect on Hollow (2013 Peabody winner), and creative director and UI/UX designer on PBS Frontline's Inheritance (2016 Emmy winner). Soyk has a BFA in New Media Design from R.I.T., an MFA in Media Art from Emerson College, and is an MIT OpenDocLab fellow.

Jesse Lewis was born in Trinidad and Tobago. He moved to Florida at the age of 9years old and has been pursuing acting for a little over 4 years now. Growing up he always had a big imagination, He would create short scenes with my friends/neighbors. Acting gives him the opportunity to play many peoples' lives without actually living it. He creates short and funny videos for Instagram and Facebook. So far he has accumulated over 100,000 followers on Instagram. He just kicked off a YouTube channel, which will feature longer content. His inspiration comes from watching Will Smith, Derek Luke and Denzel Washington. He promises not to move to LA and to keep his home-base Miami.

Nick Fortugno is a designer of digital and real-world games and co-founder of the game company Playmatics. Fortugno has been designer, writer, and project manager on dozens of games, serving as lead designer on the downloadable blockbuster Diner Dash, award-winning serious game Ayiti: The Cost of Life, CableFAX award winning Breaking Bad: The Interrogation, and MUSE award winner Body/Mind/Change as well as games with Red Bull, Disney, AMC, the Red Cross/Crescent, PBS, and USAID. Nick is co-founder of the Come Out & Play street games festival, and teaches game design and interactive narrative at Parsons School of Design.

Ana (Animatic Media) is a Venezuelan-American Director & Producer. She works in Film, Advertising and Television Production creating award-winning fictional films and documentaries, commercials, campaigns, 2D & 3D animation virtual reality content, television content and new media in multiple languages and platforms.  Her work has been seen in Discovery and the BBC and her films have screened in over a hundred film festivals worldwide. She has created campaigns for Coca-Cola, Toyota, Nissan, Kellogg's, McDonald's, Stella Artois and Hershey's among others.

She has a Bachelors of Arts in Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media from Michigan State University, she studied Avant-Garde and British Cinema at the

British Film Institute and obtained a Master of Arts in Directing for Film & TV at the University of Westminster.

Since then, her credits include the feature films War Dogs, Dolphin Tale, Dolphin Tale 2, Marley and Me, Striptease, Rosewood and the TV Series Ballers and Bloodline, among others,  She has cast for Fox, Sony, Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount, Nickelodeon, HBO, Univision, Netflix, Starz, USA, ABC, NBC, CBS, Showtime, Universal and MGM. Lori won an Artios award and an EMMY nomination for the critically acclaimed HBO movie, Recount, starring Kevin Spacey and Laura Dern.


12PM THE VR GENERATION with Kim Grinfeder (UM School of Communication), Arnaud Colinart (Agat Studios/Notes on Blindness), Milica Zec & Winslow Porter (Giant) DAY 2 (FEB 5th 2017)

Winslow Turner Porter III (Producer, Co-Creator of “Giant”) is a Brooklyn based director, producer and creative technologist, specializing in virtual reality and large-scale immersive experiential installations. Winslow has always been fascinated with the possibilities of how the intersection of art and technology can elevate storytelling. Winslow began his career film editor and modern dance composer, but pivoted into art/tech after Graduating from NYU Tisch’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) in 2010. With over six years of experiential work under his belt, he has helped create interactive experiences for Google, Delta, Diesel, Merrell and Wired, to name a few. Winslow also produced the Tribeca Film Festival Transmedia Award-winning documentary CLOUDS, among other acclaimed new media projects. Since 2015, Winslow has been a member of NEW INC, the New Museum’s art, technology and design incubator program. Giant is Winslow’s 5th virtual reality project.
